Dear AHN users~

I would like to announce that despite the current success with our downloads, we are going to be reworking our Downloads Management System today.

Some series will be down and unaccessable. The daily newsletter regarding the updates, also will not arrive today (At least I asked my team not to update anything, as anything uploaded between now and tomorrow, will be lost).

Sorry for the inconvinience~ I'll try to bring the downloads section fully up, within the next day or two.

Thank You,
AHN Administration

More uploaders - better service PDF Print E-mail

Hey guys!

First of all I want to apoologize to the Staff of AHN - me and Iljima are not too active due to the fact that we are in the last year of school and it's just crazy. Having said that - we do not have as much time as before to upload a lot of series.

At this point in time, we are in need of more uploaders for Anime (On-going), Live-Action, Manga and OSTs. However, we need uploaders who will not just upload, but are willing to add the series to the site (We will be implementing the old download system soon I believe). That way we will be able to provide more series in all genres.

If you are interested in being part of AHN team, please let me know via:

Thank you~

Hey AHN guests, members, bots, and other species!

So some of you might be wondering - where are the updates? I am sure some people are thinking that we no longer update our website just due to the fact that our main page is the same 90% of the time. Well guess what? We are updating the site daily!

If you are planning on sticking around on AHN, you will probably want to know when we add new episodes to the site. At the moment there are three things that you can do:

  1. All new members who join, are automatically subscribed to AHN Daily Newsletter and will recieve updates on all the series that were updated.
  2. All members, can check daily their fav anime page and see if the new episode is out. Yes, you have to click through a few pages, but hey... x.x
  3. We had it a year ago. We never got rid of it. It's still here! Currently being revamed - Anime Home Network Toolbar!
    ahn_toolbar

So now that you know - go and get it! Subscribe to the newsletter, get the toolbar~ Enjoy the daily updates of Anime Home Network!

Downtime Nov 16, 2008 PDF Print E-mail

Hello everyone!

I guess I owe you an explanation of what happened to Anime Home Network and what was the cause of downtime.

Some of you may remember that Anime Home Network already ran into troubles with our hosting company - Hostgator - when they removed 600GB of anime, calling it DMCA infringment and off-site storage.

At that time we have experienced a major tragedy as reuploading everything was quite hard.

However when they deleted our anime, they screwed something up and ever since, I could not log in to the billing panel. Well guess what? I was quite happy that I had their best hosting plan for FREE!

However this morning I woke just to see an 'Account Suspended' page, which made me think that this time instead of removing anime, they decided to remove my entire account. I was shocked to such a point that I quickly sent their support a ticket, and I will show this to you directly:

hostgator_support_1

Needless to say that after reading their reply I was simply sitting with my mouth open.

However, at this point I would like to thank 3 people.

1. Hostgator support - you are wonderful. I have never recieved a reply to an e-mail ticket instantly (Not those 2 above). The support was wonderful. The discount they offered was 20%. Not only that but they agreed to split the bill into two! Meaning I only had to pay $35.88 this month and they unsuspended the account right after. Thank you Hostgator stuff for the fast, reliable and friendly support.

2. I would like to thank all the donators. The donated money are used exactly for cases like this. It is because of the donators that we can improve the service provide - be it uptime, download speed or amount of content.

3. And lastly, but in no way less - I would like to thank one of my best online buddies - Psyked Out (his username of course). Because the money donated to AHN were in my bank account, the e-check would take about a week to process. We could not afford to wait that long. Psyked, man, your credit card saved us! Thank you! I'll PayPall you the money as soon as the e-check goes through.

Nothing was lost during the downtime! All sections are still up. Enjoy!
~AHN Staff

P.S. The downtime today, on the 17th, is totally their fault. They ran a script that checks who didn't pay and suspends their accounts. We still have to pay half of the price so the script took us down. Thanksfully we are back up again ^^

Anime Home Network v5 - OPEN! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Metal Wing

Welcome to Anime Home Network!

Dear AHN members, guests and search engine bots (>.<"),

As of today, we would like to officially announce our website as open!
It has been over a month since we have been working on our new site and you may not notice it at a first glance, but we have expanded our services and we have a few more currently being developed! Let's have a look at the changes and additions~

  • New website layout: You probably aren't surprised - you know how much we like to mess with the templates XD We hope that you find this layout convinient and clean.
  • New forum: The new forum system allowes members to gain virtual money for posts and use them to access extra downloads (OSTs and Manga) as well as purchase special privilages and other nice things on the forums.
  • Downloads: Attention! We would like to let you know that from now on, AHN will provide downloads for copyrighted series; however, only through MegaUpload. Hey, it's better than nothing! All completed series (whether copyrighted or not) will be moved to MegaUpload as well. Please note that all of the currently on-going series will still be available for direct download from our servers. Live-action, Manga and OSTs are also located on our servers~
  • Gallery (Under construction): Looking for a picture from an anime? Visit our gallery to find it there!
  • ahnstore
AHN Shop (Beta): Still expanding, but look forward to seeing some interesting Japanese items for sale that any Otaku would want.
  • FAQ section (Being written): You no longer need to search or post on the forums for answers - if it's frequently asked - it's in the FAQ!
  • News Archive - Been away on vacation and have no idea what's going on with the site? Visit the News Archive to view any and all daily updates since your last visit!
  • Sitemap: Looking for something? Perhaps an anime? Or a link that you couldn't find? Sitemap features a simple layout of the AHN's menu structure in a tree format, so you won't have to click through all pages to get where you want.
  • Newsletter (Beta) - We had it before - we have it now, but with more features! By clicking the Newsletter button, you can subscribe not only for daily news updates but get updates on all new added episodes! What that means? - Never miss a new release again!
  • AHN Toolbar (Beta) - Some of you may still have the old AHN toolbar, but we are working on it to ensure it features only the necessary things that you need to stay in touch with us.
  • SEF URLS: What is that? SEF stands for Search Engine Friendly, but I am sure it's not just for search engines. Now AHN url's are as obvious as http://animehomenetwork.com/downloads/anime/kyou-no-go-no-ni-tv.html ! No more weird URLs with numbers and symbols in them~ However this does have it's consequences - due to the constant changes in the site as well as unstable release, you may experience the following errors: 404, 500 and 200. If it's a 404 - chances are it is real. If it's 500/200 - the page exists, but SEF prevents it from being shown for whatever reason it gives you. What to do? Refresh you page. Clean your cache and open the webpage again. From reports our main page (http://animehomenetwork.com) gives error500 - we ask users to please simply refresh the page, close and reopen the page or clean the cache and try again. Notice that if you cannot access the page from http://animehomenetwork.com you can always try http://animehomenetwork.com/index.php and vice versa.

So what is going to happen now you may ask? Where is all the 600GB anime we had? And what's the point of virtual cash on the forums? Why reset user registrations again?

The answer is simple: From today on, we will try our best to build a strong anime network for people from all around the globe. We may not have all the anime we had before - but as we provide you with daily updates, we will reach that amount in no time - and remember, if you want to help - we greatly appreciate it! And no, we are not changing our ways! Just like always, our unlicensed, on-going series are free and accessible to public without any requirements! Virtual forum cash is there simply for fun, to make AHN seem more like a mini city for it's users.

Speaking of mini cities, I would like to thank all of those who visited our town located at http://ahn2007.myminicity.net ~ we grew a little since the last time I checked XD Now we need not only citizens, but industry! Visit http://ahn2007.myminicity.net/ind to provide citizens with more jobs~ (Oh, and I believe it counts your clicks daily *wink*)

That was a bit off topic, but that brings me to a new one - clicks. As you may have noticed - we do not have Google Ads anymore. Why? Our account was disabled. Reason? Invalid clicks. Overall, AHN lost $104 GoogleAds profit, because of invalid clicks. Having said that - if we manage to aquire GoogleAds again - do not click them daily. Do not click them for fun. Only click if you are actually interested in the ad. Trust me - Google knows x.x

This is going pretty smoothly, the topics just seem to link with each other. Now that we started talking about ads, I would like to answer your question that may sound like "O_O OMG A POP-UP AHHH!". The answer is - every 6 hours, when you visit AHN or AHN forums, you will see a full-screen advertisement, after which you can proceed to the website by clicking 'Skip Ad' on the top right. You may not like it - but think about it this way - every time you see that page load, we get money. 1 cent for 3 loaded pages. But if we get 1000 visitors a day...

Unfortunately the same doesn't apply to the in-line advertisements. What is in-line advertisements and where are they? If you see a green doubleunderlined word - move your mouse over it and you will see a pop-up with an ad. We only get money if you click it. Please don't click it unless you are interested. These ads earn a lot. They are more strict than google. Thank you~

Well, that was quite an announcement. All I can say in the end now is - welcome to Anime Home Network! Stay, download, play games, chat and enjoy! Tell others and spread the word. Let's make AHN rise above it's previously glory before the new year comes!

underconstruction

Thought I'd let everyone know that the our website's maintenance has been extended for about another 2 weeks; however, you are still able to access forums and downloads, so no worries - reconstruction is coming along well.

While our site is preparing for launch, I thought I'd give you something more or less interesting to do:

Click here and watch Anime Home Network city grow as more of you click!
The name is AHN2007 because that is the starting year of our community ^^ So make that little city look like it is really 2 years old!
